And Much More!

Our Switch kit is simple to use.  This kit includes everything you need to switch to our services.  If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to stop by one of our branches or give us a call.  We’ll help walk you through the steps of changing your accounts to Members Choice Federal Credit Union.

Closing Down Your Old Account

Be sure to leave your old accounts active long enough to allow outstanding checks and automatic withdrawals to clear. Leave enough money in place to cover these transactions. This process may take several weeks. Once you're sure that the old accounts are inactive, you can ask your previous financial institution to send you the balance from that account. Then you can destroy your old checks, ATM/debit cards and deposit slips.

Making an Easy Change

We've developed the three form letters below to help make your change-over easier. Use the following forms to close your non-members choice accounts, change your Direct Deposit* and stop automatic withdrawals. If you need help completing any of them, just stop by one of the Members Choice branches or give us a call at (254) 776-7070 or (800) 283-5343

Please remember if you have more than one automatic transaction to make extra copies of the form before filling them out. Use this checklist to keep track of people you may need to contact:

Direct Deposit

  • Your employers human resources department
  • The company handling your pension or retirement payments
  • Social Security Administration

Anyone who makes automatic withdrawals from your account:

  • Mortgage Company
  • Insurance Company – Home or Auto
  • Life Insurance
  • Cable/Telephone/Other

Routing Number
To find the account numbers for your old account, look at the bottom of your checks for a series of numbers:

Routing Number    Account Number    Check Number

Routing numbers are the first nine digits of the series, beginning with a number between 01 and 12 or 21 and 32.

Did you remember to send these businesses a Change Automatic Payment/Withdrawals form:

  • Utilities (Electricity, Water, Gas)
  • Memberships
  • Credit Cards
  • Car Payment
  • Other

Your old financial institution will have information (on your monthly statements) regarding any automatic payments or withdrawals from your account.

Need help?  Call 254-776-7070 and we'll walk you through it.
